I miss the words called "Social Consciousness"

Two days before i had to go to Thirunelveli for a marriage. I and mom had to travel by bus. When my Grandma was living in Thirunelveli we used to travel almost every week But now my travels outside Kanniyakumari District has decreased considerably. Mom and I took an Express bus (SETC) from Vadasery Bus stand. We hoped for a time saving journey. As we boarded the bus , we saw inside and in every pair of the seats one young man was sitting in the Window seat.No one was willing to change their seats so that a woman could sit. But the Conductor tried his best and ensured two seats for me and mom. Then minutes later, a couple arrived, again no one was willing. This time i changed my seat so that the lady could sit with my mom. The lady smiled and her husband showed his grievances that no one was generous nowadays.


After some time the journey started. After traveling almost one and half hours we reached Valliyoor. Now two ladies and a man boarded. The women were dressed in purdah.There was no seat for the ladies. In my seat i and another young man were sitting. That man too was reluctant to change his seating.The man in front of me was asked by the conductor to change, but he simply said no...The women and the man had to step down the Bus even though there was almost 16 seats free!


This incident had made an wound in my heart. No one is willing to offer seat for ladies even though there was lot of seats for them to sit. All these youngsters were very selfish. This is not just a stray incident. Selfishness in the Country has grown into great levels. A whole generation of Youngsters have been taught to grow selfishly.


The Liberalization era has marked the creation of the new Society where there will be no place for Common Sense.All these youngsters were looking little lavish and seemed like they were working in IT field. Also the Bus was heading to Bengaluru , the IT hub. It makes me wonder what is the Use of educating this society which shows no sign of developing the Social consciousness in people. What will these men do for the Nation? There is certainly 0% chances of them being Patriotic.The Americans who never voted a Black president in their 200 year history voted for one during an economic crisis, This society also would change only when a crisis hits it. The Joker quote of Batman The Dark knight movie was very much right, "When the chips are down these civilized people will eat each other".These people are living in a Matrix, where there is no social reality. A False world where the Conscious Thinking of the Slaves has been suppressed for the welfare of the masters. Here the Masters are the Corporate Super Rich who have shown these youngsters growing in an irresponsible, unreal , selfish world through their own media and their own Economics.A society of Selfish people will never last long, It is likely to celebrate its own funeral soon...


I wish some Conscious people would be in the head of the curve when these Curtains fall down!
